The Parade Where Fiesta Began

Since 1891, the Battle of Flowers Parade has been the pinnacle of San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration. It is where Fiesta began 134 years ago when a group of civic-minded women conceived the idea of a parade in front of The Alamo to honor the heroes that fought for Texas independence. A cornerstone of Fiesta events, the parade continues to be organized and produced by women, all volunteers, who honor the legacy of their forebears.
