Since 1891, the Battle of Flowers Parade has been the pinnacle of San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration. It is where Fiesta began 134 years ago when a group of civic-minded women conceived the idea of a parade in front of The Alamo to honor the heroes that fought for Texas independence. A cornerstone of Fiesta events, the parade continues to be organized and produced by women, all volunteers, who honor the legacy of their forebears.
Experience the delight of some of San Antonio’s most celebrated events! In addition to an iconic Fiesta parade and the nation’s oldest high school marching band festival, our calendar is packed with opportunities to celebrate Texas heritage and support monetary prizes and awards for San Antonio middle and high school students and Texas university students.
