Battle of Flowers Theme Sheet

The Battle of Flowers® Parade proudly presents...

Battle of Flowers...Where Fiesta Began! is a celebration of the birth of the Battle of Flowers®. In 1891, a flower parade was staged in memory of the fallen heroes of the Alamo and to commemorate the victory at the Battle of San Jacinto, where Texas gained its independence from Mexico. Today, the Battle of Flowers® Association celebrates Fiesta whose foundation took place over 120 years ago. Fiesta started with the Battle of Flowers!

The Battle of Flowers® Parade is a theme based parade with the overall theme determined by the Battle of Flowers® Association. In turn, participants choose a theme for their entry which must fit into the composite design for the Parade, and which must be followed in decorations and costumes. The list of themes that follow are unique to our past parades’ themes of prior years – they are designed to help you showcase your organization by promoting your Fiesta event. The list of themes that follow will serve as a guideline; you are free to select from it or suggest another theme you would like to use as we celebrate “Battle of Flowers…Where Fiesta Began!”. Flower decorations on all entries are a MUST this year. We are emphasizing Battle of Flowers!

All entry themes must be approved by the Parade Board and are “first come, first serve” to assure that each entry is unique. Since the number of entries in the Parade is limited, please discuss your idea and confirm your selection with your Section Chair as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
